Reflection

I was a student in english 1001 during the spring 2020 semester at UCBA during my time in the course I learned many things that I had never learned the true meaning of. For example I learned that genre is much more than a overall theme of a reading I learned that Genre is carried out in patterned, typical ,and intelligible text forms. My definition is basically that but he makes his definition more detailed and down to the specifics. Commencement speeches tend to focus on motivating for life after graduation whatever that may be and the other speakers like collins and the ones linked below focus on giving more of a raw real life perspective point of view. In other words they are not giving the graduating class any advice that they have no yet followed themselves.

I also learned about discourse communities in which you will see how I incorporated that into some of my writing pieces. As I have not only learned about discourse communities I also discovered just how many discourse communities I am involved in just by living my everyday life.

I feel as if I have had more personal growth in english 1001 than I have in any other english course I have taken before because I actually learned something that not only I can use in upcoming english classes but I also learned things that I can use in my personal life. On top of everything else I learned this semester I also learned about what writing is Rhetorical Situations Knowledge audience as well as how to be a more creative writer. Over the course of completing all 3 of the major assignments and all of the blog entries I was able to grow my knowledge of the english language more and more each time. However my favorite assignment was probably Major assignment #2 where I got to use all of my new knowledge to write a research paper. I found this assignment to be my favorite because being a psychology major research articles are a big part of what we study and read. I never thought I would actually write one.

Major assignment #3 was my 2nd favorite assignment because I got to incorporate everything I did in major assignment #2 and use pictures and make it so that people are able to understand it without having to necessarily read it.

Overall I would highly recommend this course to anyone that wants to take a course that you will learn alot of information in not only for thr course but also for your everday life.
